packing up house

Well im trying very hard to pack up our worldly belongings in boxes for our big move in less than 2 weeks now. Its hard to pack stuff into boxes with the kids around, infact extremely frustrating! They say where is my barbie or where is my toy car! ect ect....
Yesterday i lost the plot! and the box my daughter wanted to look in for something, i ripped off the tape and turned the boxes contents all over her bedroom floor! She just looked at my me like i was a madwomen! poor kids have been have to put up with a ranting mother ,its really very stressful this whole moving thing. Im still trying to finish iff last minute orders and thinking what to pack next the thing s that we dont desperatley need for the next few weeks. Thing is i like having all my little trinkets out my dust collectors! and all my antique things i have lovelingly collected while we have lived here.Op shops in the next town Bowen have been a treasure trove for some of my finds and then the op shop in Colllinsville has been like pandoras box , you just never know what you are going to find there.We had like a antique shop called the dingos boudior, and i got a set of green and cream enamel canisters for a song . Must go kids are up and its another day! Oh whos ever reading this Spotlight have the most lovely cherrie fabric for $5.00 a metre, my dear husband went into spotlight for me yesterday to get some for me!
He and is mate took a load of his shed stuff up to the new house ,which is a real load of our minds! He has a huge shed and filled with so much stuff! i thought i had lots of fabric and sewing stuff, but he wins ! Swags , old saddles ,camping stuff galore! Oh you have never seen such a sight! my two kids are sitting on the kithcen bench making nutella sandwhiches and my four year old has it everywhere! just cleaned them up!.Back now to writing the confessions of a ranting mother! I really must try very hard today to Keep calm and carry on ! like the teatowel from lark that i brought for our new house but ended pinned up on the wall near my computer! Oh well really must go this time , have a lovley day

Hi, just reading posie blog , and Jenny is moving to . We are having a sea change , just like the one i have dreamed of longingly like in my fav magazine of all time Aust Country Style magazine. Spent hours reading about people finding their dream home and making it all nice and cozy with lovely furnishings and lovley gardens.We now live in Out back Queenland in a mining town called Collinsville . We have lived here for the last 4 and ahalf years and have loathed every moment of it. To be honest if i hadnt started my business Rollypoly kids i would prob have ended up in the loony bin! This town has been the hardest place to live in my whole entire life! I have lived in lots of places including living on a Tug boat lovingly partly restored on the River in Brisbane lived in little flats above fruit and vege shops in Auckland Newzealand lived on my Dads boat! Lived on Hamilton Island , Airlie beach in one really great flats with great flatmates and party day and night!. Its a very clicky place , and hard to make freinds. I have made a few ,so thats made it partly bearable to live here. Where we are moving in @3weeks is
a place called Finch Hatton near the Eungella state national park which is just heaven .Its green all year round , lovely swimming holes to wallow in when its hot ,rain forrest walks , platypus play in the streams . Market heaven! im planning to sell my handmade delights at the markets
which are at Finchhatton at least once a month, and maybe at Mackay too.Im very excited to be moving to a very lovely part of the world and feel very lucky to be part of the community ,which is very arty crafty ,and i think will really suit my handmade delights.We have a lovley cafe that makes the best cappacinos and lovely slices and sells arty crafty things .So who could complain about all those things .We will have new neighbours on one side and across the road with loads of kids ,so we will all be new and can start off fresh.
Im so excited and this keeps me going know that we will be OUT OF HERE very soon.

Ok finally it worked , not sure what i did!

I have been working on some new projects and her name is pippi!

Lauren childs has re written pippi longstockings! I have made my version of her

and sheonly avaliable in a few shops Little stars and Daydreamers .

information.Im also working on some vintagey market things for markets in our new community Finch Hatton and these will be only avaliable at the markets only.Hopefully will try and slip in a market or two before xmas. Here is my version of pippi longstockings

she is whimsical and has a little cute smile just like Lola! i love her odd stockings which are from my stash of vintage fabrics , and the trim on her skirt are from my ever growing collection of

trims and just brought some from a lovely shop called retro mummy .Must go have a few orders to post and must ice cake for afternoon tea! I promise to try and keep up with keeping this updated! LOL Lisa xx

Hi going to try one more time today then im giving up and going to seek help!
Cant seem to get this post published! Im not ver computer savy or nor very good at keeping up with my blog! been bedlam around here for the last month or so and we have sold our house.
We will be moving in@ 3 weeks time. Should be packing and finishing orders.

Well , i have been slogging it out making soft toys for all the orders i have had of late.
Im still up to my ears filling orders! My bunnies seem to be the flavour of the month!
They are selling in quite a few shops , and enquires from NewZealand too. Taking kids to a disco this arvo ,under 8"s week . In a few weeks will be doing a stall at Bowen , and will be taking some of my stock, need to make some things for this , thinking of making some bunting
ect. Been buying some lovey old Amy Butler fabrics from ebay to eventually make a quilt for myself for winter! Meet me Mikes now have my vintage gingerbread men in store, so if in Melbourne go have a look. Have some other things in the pipeline ,like trying my hardest to get
Nichole Kidman to sign some things for charity , Oh yes its a great publicity for my business
but i would love to donate some things to have auctioned for chartiy for a good cause.

Hi everyone, so sorry about not keeping up with my blog! passwords! ha a big joke with me! i either forget them or have to make up another one ! Its such a pain. And if you use a very simple password they dont let you use it because its not strong enough!!!

Any way been sewing like a mad woman for all the orders i have! Slowly playing catchup and finally sent order to Pip at Meet me at Mikes! They are so cute and have used lovely old vintage

fabrics on the front and lovely japenese silk fabric on the backs. Have some more stores in the pipeline for my vintage gingerbreadmen , one in Sydney called the Bowerbird, i just love that name. It kind of reminds me of myself , collecting things , esp vintage fabrics and old buttons. Have brought some to die for Amy Butler prints from seasons ago , very hard to get

from her gingerbliss range, i plan to make myself a lovely quilt for winter .I have been meaning to make something for me for ages. I made a lovely dress from one of her older prints and i made the dress to short for my liking! must be turning into a prude! anyway going to re hash it and use it for my new quilt! no point sitting in the closet collecting dust! made it over 6 months ago and wore it once! I have some other lovely clothes i dont wear! and thought well i could cut these up for my soft toys! recycle , reuse .I love the little people video, they recycle just about anything! Im waithing on a suprize package from Melly and me some vintage fabrics ,busting to see ,. Brought some lovely new Amy Butler fabric the last of it the other day Lotus, half a yard

not sure what to make from it yet, maybe some very lim edtion bunnies ,or some new soft toys

have a super craft book with lots of ideas .Must go , kids to school and orders to fill ,not a dull moment around here. Pic of fabric that dress is made in! will make a lovely quilt ,with the other lovely prints i have ordered. cant wait will show you them when they come

Hi Everyone, im a complete computer dork! i have been a law abiding blogger and trying to update daily ect, but have competley stuffed up. Never mind have learnt my mistake hopefully and this will be asucessful post with all my updates, though i feel its going to take ages!

First things first we had alovely easter and a great holiday , lots of chocolate and lots of fun.

The plane hostess painted our kids faces like little bunnies! so cute,

My gingerbread men , will be selling in Meet me at Mikes , in Melbourne and Kids In Berlin

in Melbourne. Also Madame Butterflie has done a interview on me ,so lovely of Shae to do so .

Funny i live all the way in out back Queensland and my vintage ginger bread men are at the other end of the country .I have been going to op shops and asking people for their fabrics

amazing what comes out of the wood works. have found some lovely fabrics for my vintage

gingerbread men .I have also been been working on another project my little bunnies and they are starting to go to shops to now. Australian Country Style magazine asked to see some of my soft toys , mad rush to get them sent for photo shoot this friday!!! Living in the country has its drawbacks! we dont have overnight post from here!!! So getting something urgently to somewhere is a nightmare! Ok must go will be back later with my adventures. Kids to school

have to plan my sons birthday which is today ! but having party tomorrow! he thinks his birthday is tomorrow ! hes 4 and wants a pirate cake! have found a cake book , and has a pirate

ginger bread men

My latest creations my gingerbread men , they are fun to make and i love hunting in the op shops for the vintage buttons i use for them.Just about to go through one of my many fabric boxes and i know i have some great buttons for the eyes somewhere! from my wedding dress!

which i changed the buttons , and thought i'll keep these just in case i might use them one day.

never thought i would be making gingerbreadmen and using the buttons from my wedding dress!!! i have to confess im a horder of all things , that might come in handy one day!

Im collecting old jars now for my buttons ,which one day will be all coloured coordinated and look pretty all lined up on a shelf, like the old kitchen hutch that i scored from my husbands friend! its from a old farm house its just lovely, deciding to strip it back to its former glory or give it a good srub with sugar soap and paint it ! i think painting is the easiest way out. The jars of coloured buttons look like lollies ,so pretty. A picture of my gingerbread men!

Sunday 1.4.07

Where has this year gone? I should be sewing and cutting out gingerbread men

for samples i want to take on our holiday! Its a lovely autum day and the airconditioning is off ,how nice having a lovely cool breeze coming through ,the wisperings of winter. Such a nice change from our hot summer we have had! the recipe for the lovely easter biscuits i promised.

Shortbread bunnies

250gm unsalted butter

1 cup icing suger

2tsp lemon essence

2 1/4 cups plain flour

1/2 cup cornflour

1) Put butter, sugar and essence in large bowl and use electric beater , beat until creamy.Add flour and cornflour and stir until until mixture comes together. Knead on a slightly floured board until smooth. Form into a round and wrap in baking paer and refridgerate for 20 minutes.

2) Prheat oven to 160 celius. Line 3 baking trays with baling paper. Roll out half the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper to 5mm thick. Cut out biscuits using a rabbit shaped cutter,

i used love hearts too! Roll out remaining dough and cut out more shapes.bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool and store in a air tight container. decorate as desired.

We had lovely time yesterday at out neighbours for our early easter egg hunt. The kids had a great time. Bridgette my eldest found tons of eggs! but she was really kind and shared some of them around, how grown up of her i was very proud.

Oh my goodness ! finally have been brave enough to start my own blog!

My business rollypolykids started nearly 2 years ago and only just doing this now!

Its easter time a week early for us , easter hunt at our wonderful neighbours house. We are going away for eater hurray!

My son and i have made the biscuit mixture and everyone has pinged off on me!

Just resued the last batch from the oven! They smell devine! Hopefully i will have my lttle helpers back soon to ice them. Will show you the finished product and post the recipe .Love Lisa xxxx
